Janitorial Association of Trinidad and Tobago

ABOUT US

Who We Are

Janitorial Association of Trinidad and Tobago (JATT) was founded by Mr. Paul Duncan in July 2015 but officially registered with the Registrar General of Trinidad and Tobago in July 2020. COVID-19 Coronavirus has brought to the fore, the critical importance of janitorial cleaners and by extension, janitorial services. There is now an awareness of cleaning and more so, the persons that are involved in the cleaning industry.

During this pandemic, where managing our environment is key to flattening the curve, there is no better time to rally all the players together, in the janitorial industry.

The Janitorial Association of Trinidad and Tobago (JATT) comes at a time when we believe cleaners and cleaning in general are the most important factors of the day. For years, governments, institutions, employers, and people in general, have looked scornfully upon and treated cleaners with disdain and disrespect. Cleaners in Trinidad and Tobago for years have not been recognized, identified as a category of workers needing special attention, adequately remunerated for services rendered nor rewarded for the jobs they do. The consensus has always been that cleaners are “nobody”. Through JATT, all stakeholders in the cleaning industry can now be identified and recognized for the yeoman service they perform.

Mission

To focus on the development of Janitorial Technicians, janitorial companies, and manufacturers of janitorial chemicals. We strive to formulate and implement janitorial standards and protocols with the aim of improving and modernizing janitorial services. Through training, seminars and workshops, we will utilize conventional and technological media platforms, thus creating a space for all stakeholders in janitorial business. Janitorial Business is our Business!

Vision

To be the premier organization in Trinidad and Tobago to regulate, advocate, certify, standardize, promote, defend, and advance the janitorial community and industry which will be adopted by the wider Caribbean and the world.
